2-2 Slope Intercept form

July 25, 2010

A topic that I think is important is the Slope Intercept form of a line. After searching far and wide on the net I found a few things that will help students to understand and use the Slope Intercept form.  Here they are…

Definition
A number which is used to indicate the steepness of a line, as well as indicating whether the line is tilted uphill or downhill. Slope is indicated by the letter m.

Game
A game that requires one to figure out the equation of the line that the cockroaches are walking along so they can be killed.

Here is a piece of music that will help students remember the slope intercept form of a line-   (the first minute is a little slow but it picks up after that)

Last but not least, here is a lesson plan that integrates technology.

  1. Peter,
I certainly would not forget what y equals. The jingle is great. We certainly have to be creative in reaching our children today.
