2.10 making the wiki a better place :-)

July 26, 2010

As part of our assignment this week we were to revisit the wiki and make some changes/additions to the information that we presented and Maria coordinated last week. I decided to add a link to the Carnegie Learning website and was planning on uploading an image to help explain the way that the cognitive tutor helps with multiple representations. Unfortunately since I am not an autoconfirmed account holder yet I can not upload any images. Hopefully that will be remedied withing the next few days after I make some more edits.

Reflection on my experience with editing the Wikipedia page

I was a little overwhelmed by the editing process, I was expecting it to be just like editing our wikispace. I was intimidated by all of the parentheses and brackets and “ref”s. After a few minutes to get used to the differences it seemed pretty user friendly. I was able to adjust what I wanted to fix with little trouble. Overall, after having limited experience with wikispaces and Wikipedia in general, I can now see what all the hype is about. A user generated clearinghouse full of all the information you could ever need. And if what you are looking for is not there, you can create it yourself.
